Introduction

It was in the shade of the gigantic Ebony trees that grace the gardens of the River Lodge camp that the original pioneering families camped in the cold July of 1937. On the first night of their adventure, a male lion harassed them in their makeshift camp! He was hunted the following day and destroyed; the stories of man-eaters from further north in Kenya prompting this drastic action. Much has changed since those early days; comfort; elegance and style in particular, but much has remained the same. Exeter Private Game Reserve is still a wild part of Africa where lions still roam free.

River Lodge

   Formerly known as Exeter Main Lodge the newly built and branded River
   Private Game Lodge is an exciting lodge incorporated under the Exeter
   Private Game Reserve banner. Each of the 8 elegant River Lodge Suites are
   built overlooking the Perennial Sand River providing ultra luxury in this, the
   wild part of Africa. Magnificent views of elephant herds or surfacing hippo
   from your private patio enhance the African experience. River Lodge's
   suites are decorated in African colours, with textures and shapes adorning
   the rooms and reflecting Africa's culture and mood, complementing your
   wildlife experience and provide all the comforts you may desire. Teak dining furniture, deep sofas covered in the finest linens and ornaments from the furthest corners of Africa create a welcoming and relaxed ambience. The cuisine, complemented by the finest selection of wines lends itself to an experience as exciting as any game drive. Sumptuous cuisine, suiting all culinary tastes prepared by our Executive Chef, can be enjoyed in an open-air boma, in the lapa or even in the bush.

Dulini

   The beauty of Dulini Bush Lodge lies in the exclusivity of its luxurious
   accommodation. Embraced under a leafy canopy of Ebony Trees, six traditionally
   thatched suites, grace the banks of the Mabrak Riverbed. Each suite is individual in
   character ranging from the old world charm of the Classic Safari Suites; a marriage of
   African and colonial elegance in the African Heritage Suites; and ethnic tranquillity in
   the African Contemporary Suites. The subtle blend of pan-African art and the
   traditional safari theme, achieves an enchantingly eclectic style epitomizing the
   African Renaissance. This magnificent lodge is probably the best-kept secret within in
   the Sabi Sands Private Reserve.

Leadwood

   Situated in the world renowned Sabi Sands Game Reserve the very exclusive
   Leadwood lodge is being branded as a premier safari destination. The four
   newly constructed Leadwood Lodge Suites, epitomizes, ultra luxury with

Wildlife at Exeter Lodges

Exeter Private Game Reserve is "Big Seven" country, and the
area is world-renowned as the best venue for close up sightings
of Africa's great cats - lion, leopard and cheetah. Open vehicle game drives with professional rangers and trackers allow you to experience wildlife at its finest. An experienced ranger and tracker will lead you on the ultimate bush experience along the river in search of hippo and crocodile as well as the abundant
bird life to be found. As part of the greater Kruger National Park conservancy, Exeter Private Game Reserve presents surprises
in the form of the rare King cheetah, or one of the Kruger
National Park's "Big Tusker" elephants.
