Impodimo
Rise in the morning to an African dawn and enjoy an early morning game drive
with your
dedicated professional ranger. Relax as your ranger guides you
through the bush on a
custom made open Land Rover, searching out the Big 5 or the smaller
secrets of nature, or
set out on a foot safari with your armed ranger and learn the
secrets of tracking African
game or just enjoy the trees, birds and stunning scenery. Return to
a sumptuous breakfast
or brunch and then relax at the pool or the lapa overlooking the
waterhole where game
may come to quench their thirst. In the afternoon, head out again
on the afternoon safari,
where you will stop to watch the sun set on this bushveld paradise
and enjoy your favourite
sun-downer drink. Once the sun has set and darkness descends,
continue on your safari
where the more nocturnal creatures now rule the bush. Return to the
lodge where you will
be treated to the finest Pan-African cuisine with your hosts in the
open air boma, and
share your days adventures, while you enjoy a night cap around the
fire.
Carved
from the hillside, Impodimo's eight glass fronted luxury chalets line a natural
spring,
each enjoying striking views either from within or from the outdoor

Makanyane Safari Lodge
Makanyane's dramatic main lodge overlooks a stream-filled waterhole
shaded by a dense
canopy of trees. Enormous ancient Leadwood trees in the lounge and
the dining room
support the sweeping thatch roof. The spacious lounge area has two
rock fireplaces and
opens out onto a wide wooden deck hanging over the ravine and
waterhole below. On this
wooden deck is the well stocked bar. The dining room also opens
onto the vast deck area,
perfect for enjoying a meal under the trees while watching game
drink below. The main
lodge has a curio shop where you can browse for souvenirs, a
library area and an extensive
wine cellar.
With
eight luxurious suites nestled in lush river forests, the Makanyane Safari Lodge
offers you brilliant views of the tranquil Marico River and deluxe
facilities, including exquisite cuisine from top class international chefs and a
marvellous wine cellar. We accommode a maximum of 16 guests, ensuring that you
have privacy and individual attention. Your open-fronted lounge with its
private sundeck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sights and
sounds of the bush. The spectacular bathrooms have under-floor heating as well
as indoor and outdoor showers. The wide, folding doors can be opened to allow
the sounds and scents of the surrounding bush to join you in the luxurious
freestanding bathtub. The suites have fireplaces, overhead fans and are fully

through Madikwe's 75,000 hectare environment, either on foot or in

bush hides overlooking a

The Makanyane, (which means "African Wild Dog" in
Tswana) Safari Lodge is a new and luxurious safari lodge in the South African
Madikwe Game Reserve. The Madikwe Game Reserve offers you a real
opportunity to see packs of the endangered African Wild Dog who have
successfully been re-established in the game reserve. Visitors will also enjoy
stunning views of the roaming Magnificent 7 – lions, leopards, elephants,
rhinos, buffalo, wild dogs, cheetahs – as well as over 340 bird species and
compelling scenery.

Tau Game Lodge
Privately-owned Tau Game Lodge overlooks a vast natural waterhole, which
attracts a
variety of game, as does the diverse vegetation which thrives in
the fertile topsoil. The
lodge was designed to reflect the natural surroundings and
makes use of the natural
resources wherever possible. The lodge is decorated with unusual
African artefacts,
masks and large rugs are decorating the high-ceilinged foyer and
vivid animal-print fabrics
brighten the settees in the upside bar. Delicious buffet
breakfasts and lunches are
generally served in the main building or on the veranda next to the
plunge pool and dinner
is served in a cosy boma under the stars.

We have a spacious reception area, lounge and a bar deck
suspended on stilts above a waterhole offering excellent viewing of animals.
Tau's expansive swimming pool offers a cool respite from the African
heat. There is also a well stocked curio shop. Each chalet has its own
wooden deck, which allows one to experience the bush in privacy and is equipped
with an en-suite bathroom and open-air shower. Each of the two corner units have
been linked with the next-door unit by a communal outdoor lounge. These chalets
can be utilised for two couples travelling together or for parents with small
children sharing the room.
Ten thousand animals of 27 major species have been re-introduced to the reserve
over a
six year period with animals coming from various reserves and
breeding centres and game
viewing is now at its prime. The diverse habitat in the Madikwe
Reserve ensures a unique
combination of species such as springbok, gemsbok, sable and
impala, breeding herds of
elephant, white and black rhino, lion, cheetah, spotted and brown
hyena, buffalo, leopard,
zebra, the endangered wild dogs and various antelope species. The
birdlife is spectacular
and it is also one of the few reserves in South Africa that is
malaria free. Game drives are
conducted in open vehicles, allowing for great photographic
opportunities.
